Ama Dablam Expedition
Ama Dablam Expedition overview
Ama Dablam is one of the most beautiful and recognisable mountains in the world. Rising to 6,812m above the Khumbu Valley, its distinctive profile dominates the skyline from the moment you arrive in the region, a constant reminder of the objective that lies ahead.
This is a serious technical expedition that takes you through the full Himalayan climbing experience. The approach winds through Namche Bazaar and Tengboche before the mountain comes into full view, with acclimatisation rotations establishing Camp 1 and Camp 2 on the lower slopes before the summit push. The route above Camp 2 leads you directly onto the upper ridge and past the infamous Yellow Tower, a steep, exposed rock section that is one of the most technically demanding passages on the mountain before the final push to the summit at 6,812m.
Standing on the summit of Ama Dablam is an achievement that few mountaineers ever get to experience. It is a mountain that demands everything you have and gives back in equal measure.
